Catalyst Leadership Solutions exists to help business leaders make good decisions about
AI before they make expensive ones.
Not every process needs AI. Not every vendor claim is real. And "we're exploring AI
opportunities" is not a strategy. We help you figure out what's actually worth your
time, build the governance to do it responsibly, and bring your people along rather
than leaving them behind.
We're based in Murfreesboro and work primarily with businesses across Middle Tennessee.

Meet Dr. Robert (Bob) Simmons
Founder & CEO
I spent thirty years in IT and HR leadership before I started telling other people what
to do about AI. That matters, because most AI advice comes from people who have studied it. I’ve implemented it at organizations where the consequences were real. Badly, expensively, and occasionally right.
My career has run through finance, consulting, higher education and organizational leadership. The role
that shaped everything else was serving as Senior Vice President of HR. That role taught me that
technology problems are almost always people problems wearing a technology costume.
That insight is the foundation of everything I do now.
I hold a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from National University. My dissertation
focused on one specific question: how do executives govern AI adoption responsibly?
Not theoretically, operationally. I also hold a PMP (Project Management Professional)
and SHRM-SCP (Senior Certified Professional in Human Resources), which means I've
been credentialed in the discipline of getting things done and in the discipline of
working with people. Both turn out to be relevant when you're introducing AI into an
organization.
I graduated from West Point and served as an Army officer. The Army taught me that
accountability flows upward. As the leader, you own the outcome. The good ones and
the expensive ones. That doesn't change when you add AI to the equation. It becomes even more important.
I'm based in Murfreesboro. I work with businesses across Middle Tennessee and the
broader Southeast, and I'll meet in person when that's what the conversation calls for.
How We Think About AI
Human in the loop means something specific.
It's not a feature. It means your people by name, in a defined role, remain accountable for the decisions AI is helping to make. We design that accountability structure before we recommend a single tool.
How I work with AI.
I try new tools in my own business before I put them in front of yours. I use AI as a co-brain to draft, pressure-test, and move faster, and a human (me) owns every judgment that reaches you. That is not a disclaimer. It is the same human-in-the-loop discipline I help clients build: the model drafts, a named person is accountable for the decision. If I recommend something, it is because I stand behind it, not because a model produced it. The tools change fast. Who is accountable does not.
Access is not the same as investment.
Your employees having access to a chatbot is not an AI strategy. Investment means defined use cases, governance, training, and oversight. We help you tell the difference.
Not every process needs AI.
Some do. Some don't. A process that is broken will not be fixed by automating it; you'll just produce wrong answers faster. We identify where AI can genuinely help and where it will make things worse. At Catalyst we start with the question "what business problem are you trying to solve?"
Ethics isn't a policy document.
It's a set of decisions about who is accountable for what, and when a human has to be in the room. We help you make those decisions before you need them.
We work in Middle Tennessee.
We understand the regional business environment, and we meet in person when it counts.
We're not a platform. We're a person.
